Welding Consumable Inserts
VBC Group are able to offer a wide range of cross-sectioned profiled root bead weld wire where a fully penetrated weld joint is critical such as in submarine and power boiler pressure piping fabrication.
Inserts can be manufactured from a wide range of alloys, such as:
- Nickel (Inconel 625),
- Stainless (308L, 316L and 347),
- Structural and creep resistant steels (MS-1, IN 515 and IN 521),
- Cupro-nickels (IN 813 and IN 67),
- and Monels (IN 816 and IN 60)
Insert profiles are commonly reference as Class 1 A Shape or Class 5 K Shape, and can be supplied in different styles A, B or C depending upon whether your requirement is for coil, over-lapping preformed rings or butted preformed rings respectively.
Typical insert wire diameters are 2.4mm, 3.2mm and 4.0mm. Inserts made from customer supplied raw material can also be produced.
